In August 2024, the S Alam Group was one of several industrial groups targeted by the Interim Government for alleged financial misdeeds.

In December 2024, we issued a formal notice of dispute under the 2004 Bangladesh-Singapore Bilateral Investment Treaty (BIT) to protect our business interests and our long-standing efforts to ensure Bangladesh becomes a prosperous country for all.

Our claim will head to the International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID) in 2026. We expect our rights as a family and a business to be upheld by the tribunal’s decisions which we hope affirm that the Interim Government’s actions have been arbitrary, driven by personal agendas and committed without due process.
