In 1985, with a small loan from his mother, Mohammed Saiful Alam established the S Alam Group.
In July 2024, the group employed close to 100,000 people across Bangladesh and plays a crucial role in supporting the country’s industrial manufacturing, food production, and energy deployment.

Today the S. Alam Group is driven by family members. The Chairman is Mohammed Saiful Alam and his wife is Farzana Parvin. Their sons are Ahsanul, Ashraful and Asadul who are all involved in running different parts of the Group with a focus on developing new lines of business, as is their son in law Belal Ahmed.
